Recreating a future-facing paint brand

For over 7 years, Vendo Paint has provided paint to Indonesian market that focuses on diversity aspects of products such as Decorative, Automotive, Heavy Duty and Industrial. Vendo Paint want to be known at the beginning as a company that can provide many paint and coating functions. While the brand’s was well-known throughout the industry, the company set its sights on a transformative priority for growth: enabling a strong brand positioning, identity and digital branding.

Enter Mahardhika— we were tasked with repositioning, renaming, and refreshing Vendo Paint’s visual identity while retaining its established reputation with its customers and more than 10 retails store all over Indonesia’s area.

To start our journey, we identified key questions we had to answer in order to guide the creation of a new brand: who is Vendo Paint, today and tomorrow, and what is the right name to embody our strategy and grow with it? We combine all of the four for aspects of Vendo Paint which is imagination of consumers, communities, and the environment, into the design of the brand.

Our brand core idea “Protecting Your Creativity”, means protecting buildings by using high specifications and high durability paint & coating products, and yet it is fun to do and never lose one’s creativity for every brush strokes painted on the wall.

To support the name, the tagline needed to be both inspiring and clear. “Timeless Imagination,” encompassed the aspirational criteria while speaking to the fulfilment of customer expectations as well as the to never lose imagination whenever and wherever we are. With great imagination comes fortunate outcome and opportunity for the future. With its fresh and modern appeal and future-forward sentiment, the new tagline was a perfect complement to enhance and support the new brand positioning. 

From brief to completion, the partnership of Vendo Paint and Mahardhika proved that established brands can do more than simply adapt to strive; they can advance it.
